The Book of Assistance - Imam Al-Haddad Ch. 6 "On Reciting the Quran" - I made a note that the first 12 ayat's in Surah Al Hadid during the optional sunrise prayer is really nice. This little book has great info.

Ch. 7 - "On Acquiring Knowledge"

And this, which is near the end of the book, along with some other things (some of the footnote)

so here is the

1:42

challenge take 10 words in any language

1:45

formulated into three lines or verses

1:48

and add any preposition or linguistic

1:51

particle you see fit produce at least 27

1:55

rethorical devices and literary features

1:59

at the the same time ensure it has a

2:01

unique structure it's timelessly

2:04

meaningful and relates to themes within

2:07

a book that it is part of the size of

2:11

the wi is over 70,000 words make sure

2:15

four of its words are unique and never

2:18

used again in the book ensure each line

2:22

or verse ends with a rhyme created by

2:24

words with the most optimal meanings

2:27

make sure that these words are used only

2:29

only once in the three lines and not

2:32

used anywhere else in the book ensure

2:35

that the three lines concisely and

2:37

eloquently semantically mirror the

2:40

chapter before it and they must

2:42

formulate a profound response to an

2:45

unplanned set of

2:47

circumstances you must use 10 letters in

2:50

each line and 10 letters only once in

2:53

the entire three lines throughout the

2:56

whole piece make sure you produce a

2:58

semantically oriented Rhythm without

3:01

sacrificing any meaning do all of the

3:04

above publicly in one attempt without

3:07

revision or amendment in absence of any

3:11

formal training in eloquence or rhetoric

3:14

impossible as the above may seem this

3:17

exactly what the Quran achieved in its

3:19

shortest chapter alar the abundance and

3:23

it was expressed through prophet

3:25

Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam who

3:27

was not known to have composed any

3:29

poetry

3:30

nor cultivated any special rhetorical

3:33

skills informed by both Islamic and

3:35

Western scholarship this essay aims to

3:37

Showcase to an English-speaking audience

3:40

the quran's miraculous literary and

3:42

linguistic

3:43

inimitability this will be achieved by

3:45

analyzing the smallest chapter and it

3:48

will address key objections although

3:51

this essay will also be appreciated by

3:53

Arabic speakers it will not delve into

3:56

the deep linguistic debates because it

3:58

will be of no significance to those

4:01

unfamiliar with Arabic Linguistics

Didn't watch: Islam is the Truth Jan Ryczkowski

Finishing up watching: How “The Matter With Things” Can Transform the World | book by Iain McGilchrist The New Enlightenment with Ashley

the material world he has a chapter on value where he looks at goodness or

32:07

righteousness uh Beauty meaning truth he has a chapter on purpose that is

32:12

beautiful I won't even try to explain it right here he has a chapter on the son of the Sacred where he talks about left

32:20

hemisphere versus right hemisphere versions of religion of course left hemisphere includes dogma and that

32:26

includes religions such as atheism and uh secular religions secular ways of

32:32

understanding value and meaning in the world one interesting thing in this chapter is that he notes that most

32:38

religions throughout history have had limitations on the use of the word God

32:43

in recognition that the word cannot capture the thing it's really trying to

32:49

capture which is true of basically almost anything we might talk about like can words capture how a person looks and

32:57

like can you say okay they have brown hair and bangs and whatever and no you cannot know how a person looks until you

33:04

actually see them cuz words just don't capture it and one analogy that he uses

33:09

at some point in the book is that um it's like a fishnet where the words are

33:15

the net and they're trying to capture a reality but all you get I think he says is the drippings of the fish net with

33:21

your words you don't get the real reality you have to taste the pineapple no set of words can describe what

33:29

pineapple actually is experienced like and the same of course is true of God

33:35

where um at some point he says people in religious groups often recognize you

33:42

cannot talk about something as deep and profound as this sacred thing you're

33:48

pursuing and yet you have to talk about it and there's this uncomfortable Paradox in that but of course Paradox is

33:55

part of his uh depiction of reality

Yes, and the Sufi's (and possibly others, sure) in Islam talk about this. "You have to taste the pineapple no set of words can describe what pineapple actually is".

the engineer and the gardener come up in

34:01

this chapter where God as engineer who's perfectly controlling everything is

34:06

actually not a good depiction of that which exists which which is co-creating

34:12

reality with us God as Gardener co-creating with beings who have free

34:17

will that's a much better depiction of the reality here and he does not deny

34:24

the existence of evil and yet there's an asymmetry between good and evil in the sense that the good can Encompass the

34:31

evil but the reverse is not true This is the Truth. None can encompass Allah but Allah encompasses all. Truth prevails over falsehood. Ultimate justice and truth rests with Allah alone. Allah is perfect, ever-living and without need while everything else is dependent upon him and will die or come to an end.

now I want to come back to the notion of myth

34:37

and the way he lays this out as a myth because all societies operate on top of

34:44

myths and the question is do those myths point that Society toward the valuable

34:51

the truly inherently valuable The Good the beautiful the the loving the kind

That is

  • Allah

Oh, but the people do not know...

"You have to taste the pineapple no set of words can describe what pineapple actually is".

whatever it is do do those myths point the society in the direction of that of

35:01

Truth or do the society's myths Point them toward a road that puts the left

35:07

hemisphere in charge and let me read you a quote on this it's a fairly long quote but I think it's worth it this is all

35:14

very well someone might say but it is a myth that of course is true but it

35:19

doesn't deliver the hoped for knockout blow just as there is no option to think

35:24

without metaphor there is no such thing as not not having a myth those who think

35:29

they don't have a myth have merely bought into the prevailing myth of the time in our case the myth of the machine

35:36

so thoroughly that they are not even aware of it our only option is to espouse a worse or one hopes a better

35:44

myth I have argued that myths like metaphors are by no means lies that are

35:49

invented but aspects of truth that are discovered and form an inevitable indeed

35:55

crucial part of the search for that truth myths oversee or underwrite what

36:01

we are capable of seeing the nature of the attention that we bring to bear on the world and the values which we bring

36:07

to the encounter change what we find and in some absolutely non-trivial sense

36:13

change what it is this is a story that every person can be called into

Short: What Was the Madhab of the Salaf? Safina Society

I don't know about that hadith, I was actually thinking about how it's mentioned in the Holy Qur'an many times how Allah S.W.T. created man from clay - in other words, pointing to an evolutionary kind of theology but that's not to say I don't believe in Adam A.S. and Eve neither but the completion and perfection of man, which would be the completion of the macroevolutionary process resulting in the species - - "homosapien" wherein we also find, that like 99.99% of the human DNA is identical to other humans though we do have different colors and hues as Allah also points out as well in the Holy Qur'an. It's weird and strange that we have other health type of effects as well when we are out in nature (such as the automatic beneficial effects on the nervous system when around trees/in a forest for example) and more connected with nature such as "grounding" ourselves to the ground/land.

I saw some really good documentaries on PBS before as well about evolution back when I was a disbeliever about the similarities of the human embryo at certain stages to that of a fish embryo and then the whole evolutionary kind of uh thing comparing different higher genus animal embryos and that of to humans and the amazing like uh DNA instructions in the human that forms the hand and then the fingers etc. - Is really cool, was really good but anyway...I believe we are connected with all living things on this planet, though it is distantly and I believe all living things have a certain amount of consciousness and can feel pain etc. Is actually more like a scientific fact nowadays actually. And we are suppose to treat other living things etc. well and do good, you can get rewards for that or get punishment for doing the opposite.

27:25 Outro

Western media acknowledged that the

20:09

Lebanese Army was indirectly

20:12

collaborating with Hezbollah in order to

20:15

fight Isis and Al-Qaeda here's a 2017

20:18

report in Reuters Lebanese Army

20:20

Hezbollah announced offensives against

20:23

Islamic State on Syrian border now

20:26

officially the Lebanese Army claimed

20:28

they were not collaborating with

20:30

Hezbollah because the Lebanese Army has

20:32

received support from the US and Western

20:35

governments and they don't want to be

20:36

affiliated with Hezbollah formally but

20:39

we all know that unofficially the

20:41

Lebanese Army was collaborating with

20:43

Hezbollah against Isis and they were

20:46

also unofficially collaborating with the

20:48

Syrian Army against Isis and meanwhile

20:52

while hasola was fighting Isis do you

20:54

know where Isis fascists were getting

20:57

their weapons from

20:59

the United States and its allies here's

21:02

a report from CNN in

21:04

2015 it cites a report done by Amnesty

21:08

International and it is titled amnesty

21:10

report Isis armed with us weapons and

21:15

another report by a uk-based

21:17

organization called conflict Armament

21:20

research disclosed in

21:22

2017 that once again isis's weapons

21:27

largely came from the United States and

21:29

Saudi Arabia and as Al jazer reported Al

21:33

jazer is Kutter State media and actually

21:35

qar was also supporting al-Qaeda in

21:37

Syria which is ironic but as this Al

21:39

jazer report noted arms used by ISIS or

21:43

isil in battle were supplied by the US

21:45

and Saudi Arabia to Syrian opposition

21:48

fighters in 2015 Reuters published an

21:52

article quoting the US military which

21:55

admitted that us trained so-called

21:58

Rebels

21:59

in Syria the so-called moderate Rebels

22:01

gave their Us weapons and military

22:03

equipment to jabatan which was Syria's

22:07

Al-Qaeda affiliate which at that time

22:10

was the world's largest Al-Qaeda

22:12

affiliate so I really need to emphasize

22:13

this point the US military admitted that

22:17

the so-called moderate Rebels that they

22:18

armed in Syria were giving weapons to

22:23

alqaeda so let's summarize what happened

22:25

here Hezbollah and its allies like Iran

22:29

and the Syrian government were forming

22:31

coalitions with Christians and minority

22:34

groups in Lebanon and in Syria to

22:37

protect themselves against Isis and

22:40

Al-Qaeda whereas Isis and Al-Qaeda were

22:43

getting weapons from the US and the gulf

22:46

monarchies as they tried to carry out

22:49

genocide against Shia Muslims and

22:52

Christians and Drews and other religious

22:55

and ethnic minorities so again Hezbollah

22:59

fought against Isis while Isis was

23:01

getting us weapons but we're supposed to

23:04

believe that Hezbollah is a so-called

23:06

terrorist

23:07

organization so now where does Israel

23:10

fit in all of this well in 2019 the

23:13

chief of the Israeli military the IDF

23:16

admitted that for years Israel had been

23:19

providing weapons and support to the

23:22

so-called rebels in Syria that were

23:25

allied with Isis and Al-Qaeda as they

23:28

were figh

23:29

the Syrian government and its allies

23:31

Iran and Hezbollah in fact it gets even

23:34

worse the mainstream Israeli newspaper

23:36

the Jerusalem Post reported in

23:39

2015 I'm I'm this I'm reading the

23:42

headline quote report Israel treating

23:45

Al-Qaeda Fighters wounded in the Syria

23:48

civil war this article admitted that

23:53

extremist salafi jihadist fascists from

23:56

Syria from Al-Qaeda the al-Qaeda

23:58

affiliate which is jaara when they were

24:00

wounded they were being treated by

24:02

Israel Israel was literally aiding

24:05

al-Qaeda in Syria and that's not all

-- "but we're supposed to 23:04 believe that Hezbollah is a so-called 23:06 terrorist 23:07 organization ". - Who is calling whom a terrorist?

I I really need to stress this once

25:01

again Hezbollah which Western

25:04

government's claims is supposedly a

25:06

terrorist organization saved Christians

25:10

and Shia Muslims from genocide that was

25:13

being carried out by ISIS and Al-Qaeda

25:17

which were getting weapons from the US

25:19

and its Gulf allies and being treated in

25:22

hospitals by Israel and then Israel got

25:25

an apology when Isis accidentally

25:27

attacked Israel I mean this is this

25:31

really speaks for itself when you

25:33

understand these facts which have all

25:35

been reported in mainstream media

25:38

Outlets I'm not quoting any Fringe media

25:40

Outlet here these are mainstream media

25:42

outlets in the US and Israel they are

25:45

acknowledging that the so-called

25:47

terrorist organization Hezbollah was

25:49

fighting against the actual terrorists

25:52

and Hezbollah defended not only minority

25:56

groups but it defended Lebanon and its

25:59

territorial integrity and sovereignty in

Lebanon's sovereignty & territorial integrity

26:02

fact in 2020 Reuters reported that

26:05

Hezbollah is the most powerful group in

26:08

Lebanon period of course there's also

26:11

the Hezbollah political party which is

26:13

just one of the political parties in the

26:15

parliament which is in the ruling

26:17

Coalition but we're talking about the

26:18

Hezbollah armed Wing this is not just a

26:21

small paramilitary group in fact some

26:24

analysts say that Hezbollah is more

26:26

powerful than the Lebanese armed forces

26:29

that is to say that it is because of

26:32

Hezbollah that Lebanon still exists in

26:35

its form current form with its

26:38

territorial Integrity if it were not for

26:40

Hezbollah leading the resistance Israel

26:43

would have colonized the southern part

26:46

of Lebanon which it militarily occupied

26:48

for 18 years if it were not for

26:51

Hezbollah Isis and Al-Qaeda may have

26:54

taken over Lebanon so Hezbollah and the

26:57

Syrian government and Iran and also

27:00

resistance groups in Iraq they were

27:04

responsible for defeating Isis and

27:06

defending their country's territorial s

27:09

integrity and sovereignty and preventing

27:12

their governments from being overthrown

27:13

by ISIS and Al-Qaeda whereas the West

27:16

was basically cheering them on

I actually was finding "fault" and questioning some fiqh stances in my chosen madhab of the Shafi'i school about some things, especially on some of the fiqh regarding jihad. I don't agree with some things, some ways or "manners" within and maybe some other fiqhii issues as well I do take issue with and some things I'm unsure about and would have to see what, why that that was the stance or position taken on that particular issue. I do like Muhammad Asad seemingly anyway and his stance that people should "think for themselves" and the Quran urges us to think and to ponder and to gain wisdom and knowledge. Be smart. Be the best you can be, most perfect you can be, develop yourself to your highest potential, well, try anyway and/while keeping Allah as #1 and trying to stay humble, stay within the Shariah, do lots of good deeds and make yourself more beautiful for Allah S.W.T.

Say Allahu Akbar = a good deed. Die and go to jannah. Inshallah. Of course you won't unless Allah allows/wills it to happen.
